Mike Shannon, Criminal Investigator for Howell County's Prosecuting Attorney, has announced that he will be running for the office of sheriff in the upcoming election. Mike is a true native of Howell County, having been born and raised in West Plains, MO. He married his wife, Dena Grogan daughter of Richard and Joyce Grogan, in 1985 and they have three boys. Mike accepted the position of criminal investigator with the prosecuting attorney's office in 2002. He has also served as a member of the South Central Missouri Citizen's Advisory Board since 2001. Mike has worked as a reserve officer, jailor and dispatcher for Howell County. Along with practical experience at the judicial level of law enforcement, he has valuable administrative experiences through his electrical business. Over the span of the last 20 years, Mike has dealt with every aspect required for running a successful business from bookkeeping to payroll and personnel. Shannon believes his moral character and diverse background can offer Howell County a sheriff whose affinity for the needs of the citizens will be priority. |
